Carter goes to the beach: Day 2

Day 2 was definitely better than day one! We started off the morning with a little pier park mall shopping before heading back to the room to get ready for the beach. I have to admit, I was VERY worried about how Carter would take to the beach. Lucky for us, it was naptime and he did great! Josh and I got a little sun and later, we enjoyed dinner at the Back Porch.

Hopefully tomorrow will be just as good!

Carter heads to the beach: Day 1

Recent events in the Swanger household have led to a spur of the moment vacation. After much consideration, Josh and I decided we would head to Florida. (Yes, we know...it's still spring break. And believe me, the loonies are still out) We thought it would be neat to take Carter to the beach for the first time. So, we made reservations a week and a half ago and the wait was on.

We scurried to get the bathing suits, baby hats, sunglasses and LOTS of sunscreen together! With that, we headed out early this morning. And I mean, wake up at 3:30, leave out by 5!

We were slightly worried about the 8 hour drive, but I have to admit...it could have been worse. Carter did great up until an hour before we arrived. (Elmo DVDs helped pass his time! Thanks Melissa Creel)

We decided to walk on the beach and attempt the pool. I will go ahead and confess, so far we are 0-3. Carter cried when his feet hit the sand, toes hit the ocean and toush hit the pool. I'm crossing my fingers that the little booger was just exhausted and tomorrow will be amazing!

Stay tuned for daily Carter beach updates through Wednesday! We'll see what kind of crazy "spring break" he'll make for us. So far, we've seen people kicked out of the pool and heard "roll tide roll" screamed across the premises!
